How to Update Firmware on ELAC SUB 3010 and SUB 3030 Subwoofers

To update the firmware on your ELAC SUB 3010 or SUB 3030, download the correct file, load it onto a FAT-formatted USB drive, and follow the LED-guided process. Use the ELAC control app to verify the update.

To ensure optimal performance, follow these steps to update the firmware on your ELAC SUB 3010 or SUB 3030 subwoofer.

 

What You’ll Need

  • A USB thumb drive (8GB or smaller) formatted in FAT (not FAT32 or exFAT)

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Download the Firmware

     

  2. Prepare the USB Drive

    • Unzip the downloaded .hex file.

    • Copy the .hex file to the main directory of the USB drive (not inside a folder).

     

  3. Power Off the Subwoofer

    • Unplug the AC power cord from your subwoofer.

    • Wait 2 minutes to allow it to fully power off.

     

  4. Install the USB Drive

    • Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of the subwoofer.

     

  5. Start the Update

    • Plug the AC power cord back in.

    • The blue LED will:

       

      • Blink for 5–10 seconds

      • Go solid for a few seconds

      • Blink again for another 5–10 seconds

       

    • Once the update is complete, the blue LED will remain solid.

     

  6. Complete the Update

    • Remove the USB drive.

    • Unplug the AC power cord again.

    • Wait 2 minutes to fully power off the unit.

     

  7. Reconnect and Verify
