No Sound/Static when Connecting Via HDMI ARC
Why am I experience audio issue when connecting via HDMI ARC? (ConneX DCB41, DCB41-DS)
If you’re not getting audio from your TV through HDMI ARC or hearing static, follow these steps:
- Check the HDMI ARC Port
Ensure the speakers are connected to the correct HDMI ARC port on your TV. Most TVs only have one HDMI ARC-enabled port—refer to your TV’s manual if you’re unsure which one it is.
-
Enable HDMI CEC on Your TV
For ARC to function properly, HDMI CEC must be enabled in your TV’s settings.Note: Different manufacturers use different names for HDMI CEC (e.g., Anynet+ for Samsung, Simplink for LG, Bravia Sync for Sony). Check your TV’s manual or support site for the exact terminology.
-
Set Audio Format to PCM and Stereo
Go to your TV’s audio output settings and ensure the format is set to PCM and Stereo. Many TVs default to Automatic, Bitstream, or Surround Sound, which may not be compatible with the speaker system. -
Balance Volume Between Source and Speakers
Recommendation: Set your source device volume to 80–90%, and then use the speaker’s volume control to adjust to your preferred listening level. This reduces the amplification of electrical noise or signal interference.
Experiencing a low-level hiss, static, or background noise? Here’s what to check: If the volume levels between your source device (TV, computer, etc.) and the speakers are mismatched, noise may be more noticeable.
