How to Update Firmware on ELAC Varro Subwoofer

To update the ELAC Varro Subwoofer firmware, download the file, load it onto a FAT32 USB drive, and follow the LED-guided steps after powering the subwoofer off and on. Use the Sub Control 3.0 app to confirm the update.

To perform a firmware update on your ELAC Varro Subwoofer, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a USB Drive

Use a USB thumb drive that is 8GB or smaller, formatted in FAT32.

  2. Download Firmware File

Download the firmware zip file from the product page on our website:

    https://elac.com/varro

  3. Extract and Copy the Firmware

    Unzip the downloaded file.

Copy the .BL2 file to the main directory of the USB drive (not inside a folder).

  4. Power Off the Subwoofer

Unplug the AC power cord from the subwoofer.

Wait 5 minutes to ensure it fully powers off.

  5. Install USB Drive

Insert the USB drive with the firmware file into the USB port on the back of the subwoofer.

  6. Power On the Subwoofer

Plug the AC power cord back in.

  7. Firmware Update Process

    • The Blue LED will blink for 5–10 seconds.

    • It will then go solid for a few seconds.

    • It will blink again for another 5–10 seconds.

    • The Blue LED will remain solid once the update is complete.

  8. Finish the Update

    Remove the USB drive.

Unplug the AC power cord again and wait 5 minutes.

  9. Reconnect and Confirm

Plug the AC power cord back in.

Open the ELAC Sub Control 3.0 app on your Android or iOS device.
