Can I mount your Bookshelf speakers on the wall?
You can mount any speaker with the proper mounting bracket, with some caveats.
Wall-mounting bookshelf speakers is generally no problem—as long as you’re using brackets that are properly rated for the speaker’s weight and size. Just make sure the mount is secure and allows for a bit of clearance behind the speaker if possible.
That said, walls can sometimes introduce their own resonances, especially with bass frequencies. This can affect the overall sound in unexpected ways, so it’s something to be mindful of when choosing placement.
It's preferred to mount directly to the wall stud, or look for mounting options that can support the total weight of the speaker + mounting hardware.
When wall-mounting speakers with rear-facing vents, placing them too close to the wall won’t block the bass entirely, but it can change the way it sounds—often making it feel boomy or overwhelming.
Here are a few ways to manage that:
-
Using a Subwoofer? Set your speaker’s crossover to at least 80Hz to offload deep bass to the subwoofer and minimize vent-related issues.
-
Still too much bass? Gently stuffing the rear port with soft material (like a sock or foam ball) can help tame low-end resonance.
